DESIGNING HIGH-PERFORMANCE MIXING TANKS WITH CFD BATCH REACTOR MODELING FOR SOLID-LIKE SUSPENSIONS WITH A PROPER CATALYST
ABSTRACT
Mixing tanks are crucial in industries such as chemical processing and biophar-maceutical production. This study uses CFD to model batch reactors for solid-like suspensions with catalysts. Key findings include the optimal operating conditions of 20 rpm and a mixture composition of 40% dimethylamine, 59% heavy fuel oil No. 2, and 0.6% micro-spherical catalyst. This configuration reduces costs by tenfold while significantly enhancing product conversion rates.
